Press Release

St. Lucia -- November 29, 2003 -- The St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture and Caribbean Credit Bureau Limited have launched their on-line credit bureau service to provide St Lucia business assistance in reducing the incidence of returned cheques and the impact of those not paying their bills. "Outgoing Chamber of Commerce President Mr Guy Mayers was instrumental in getting the Chamber involved in the establishment of the credit bureau in St Lucia", says Grady Clarke, CEO of Caribbean Credit Bureau Ltd. The benefits of this strategic alliance and joint venture were confirmed at the annual general meeting of the St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce by the Director of Corporate Affairs for Grace, Kennedy & Company Limited during his address and very informative presentation.

"It was extremely important to launch the credit bureau service in November so that subscribers can list their returned cheques and bad debt and have this information immediately available to other subscribers for the peak shopping season" says Clarke. By listing bounced cheques and bad debt, subscribers will be informed of those high-risk customers, and by declining to accept cheques or grant credit will encourage these customers to settle their delinquencies and bad cheques. This is a tremendous benefit to subscribers as the new credit reporting network will have a direct impact in improving cash flow during the busiest month of the year.
